Cheryl Farmer, CPA
Director of Client Development, AVR
Cheryl Farmer is an entrepreneur whose career has been focused on accounting, finance and people. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, Cheryl worked for Arthur Andersen in its Philadelphia and Denver offices. Cheryl later became a partner in a Colorado-based CPA practice specializing in government, non-profit organizations and small businesses.
Her entrepreneurial talents became apparent when her experience with one unique client changed her focus to retail management consulting. Cheryl became Managing Owner of The Bootlegger Companies in 2003, a group of brick and mortar shoe stores located throughout the Midwest with an innovative website. She actively participated in NSRA (National Shoe Retailers Association) as a retail inventory specialist and as a retail cash flow management consultant.
Cheryl is certified as a behavioral specialist with PDP (Professional Dynametric Programs) and is a Licensed Associate targeting college-tracked youth. Cheryl’s focus is primarily high school graduates and college students who are curious about the world and wondering what they are going to do with their lives. Her company will track an individual through a ten-year period to evaluate behavioral, career and communication patterns and to gauge internal growth. Cheryl hopes to build a network of young professionals who will establish supportive life-long professional and personal connections early in their careers.
Cheryl is a member of Arizona Business Leaders (ABL) and the Valley Advisory Group, an organization which helps Arizona-based businesses achieve their next stage of growth. Cheryl sits on the Board of Directors for Gabriel’s Angels, a non-profit organization which delivers healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at risk children.
